{"id":10905,"date":"2019-01-29T10:07:08","date_gmt":"2019-01-29T15:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jasontaylorfoundation.com\/2024\/?p=10905"},"modified":"2023-12-10T18:14:30","modified_gmt":"2023-12-10T23:14:30","slug":"10905","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jasontaylorfoundation.com\/2024\/news\/10905\/","title":{"rendered":"South Florida Youth Poet Laureate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SOUTH FLORIDA YOUTH POET LAUREATE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u00a0\u2022 \u2022<\/span><\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Jason Taylor Foundation is in the final stretch of accepting talented poet submissions for its <strong>South Florida Youth Poet Laureate<\/strong> program through <strong>February 9th, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Well known for its being one of the leading ways of identifying powerful youth poets, the competition, looks to give young minds a means of showing off their best work.\u00a0 Upon submitting their <strong>5 commendable written poems<\/strong>, a <strong>Youth Poet Laureate and two ambassadors<\/strong> will be selected by a group of 5 community judges.\u00a0 Each judge will be evaluating applicants&#8217; works using an identical rubric where the highest numbers ranked will be the ones chosen to represent South Florida locally, as well as on the <a href=\"http:\/\/youthlaureate.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>National Youth Poet Laureate<\/strong><\/a> platform.\u00a0 In addition, each finalist will be allowed the opportunity for various performance engagements and the winner will collaborate with the bluapple Poetry leadership team to have their work published as a chapbook and enjoy a book release event during the <a href=\"http:\/\/jasontaylorfoundation.com\/2024\/programs\/louder-than-a-bomb-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Louder Than A Bomb Florida<\/strong><\/a> festival.
