\nMiami Dolphins Cheerleaders for\u00a0International Women’s Day<\/h2>\n

In recognition of International Women\u2019s Day 2020<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders<\/a><\/strong><\/span> partnered with Sophia Liautaud<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, a student from the Jason Taylor Foundation\u2019s poetry programming, to release an inspirational video celebrating all women.<\/p>\n

Back in November of 2019, the Dolphins approached JTF in preparation for a first of its kind dance showcase, UNIR<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. Looking for a student poet, the goal was to create a collaboration of two art forms, spoken word poetry and dance, that would come to life on the stage of The Broward Center for Performing Arts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sophia, a senior at Boca Raton Community High School<\/strong> and member of CORE<\/strong>, a youth ambassador and leadership collective as part of the Foundation\u2019s Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, was chosen for the project.<\/p>\n

Sophia wrote an original poem entitled \u201cI Rise<\/strong>\u201d and spent several months working with Miami Dolphins Cheer Captain, Katie Martinez<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and choreographer, Natalie Chernow<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, to present a piece that was visually, audibly, and emotionally stunning.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the power of what had been created by three gifted female artists, the Dolphins decided the piece could live beyond UNIR. The resulting video moves us all.<\/p>\n
