The Jason Taylor Foundation<\/strong> is proud to introduce the inaugural<\/strong> Wizard Creations<\/strong><\/a> Whiffle Blast<\/span> <\/a>presented by<\/strong><\/span> Sports Chiropractic and Natural Health Solutions<\/span><\/strong><\/a> on January 21, 2017 <\/strong>at\u00a0Pine Trails Park<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in Parkland, FL<\/strong>. The main event\u00a0is a 40-team\u00a0whiffle ball tournament<\/strong> presented over a backdrop of family entertainment including the South Florida Ford<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Home Run Derby<\/strong>, a fully interactive KidZone<\/strong> with\u00a0inflatables and children\u2019s activities, \u00a0a full day of entertainment from the Dance Theatre<\/span><\/a> Main Stage<\/strong> and a variety of food trucks to keep guests fueled to enjoy the festivities. \u00a0Whiffle Blast is a fun and\u00a0exciting way for all ages to help the Jason Taylor Foundation build a better future for South Florida children in need, particularly those battling cancer and medical emergencies.<\/p>\n

Dr. Todd Rodman<\/strong><\/span>, of Sports Chiropractic and Natural Health Solutions, and Luke Freeman<\/strong>, of Wizard Creations Branded Merchandise, have been driving forces behind the first year event.<\/p>\n

Rodman initially had the idea of creating Whiffle Blast after playing in a tournament with his brothers-in-law two years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince then, I\u2019ve always dreamed of doing a tournament like that a little closer to home, in our community, just so we can have a great event and do it for a great cause,\u201d said Rodman.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rodman then decided to present the idea to the Seth Levit<\/strong>, executive director at JTF. Levit said he was excited when Rodman, who is a very active part of the community, approached him with the idea.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor him to feel that we were an organization that made sense was very meaningful and rewarding to us,\u201d said Levit, \u201cAs far as the idea, I thought it seemed fun and it was outside of the box.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Rodman wasn\u2019t the only one with whiffle ball on the brain. Freeman also thought of bringing a tournament similar to the one he played in Chicago to his home area. Freeman has also been a strong supporter of JTF for years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire platform of the fine arts programs, like Louder Than a Bomb Florida, and all the wonderful types of creative outlets that the Jason Taylor Foundation gives children and young adults is really important to me,\u201d said Freeman.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, when Levit told him about the idea, he readily joined forces with Rodman to help make it a reality. With almost a year of planning and two weeks until the event, all parties are excited for the 21st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Rodman said his hope for the event is to show children in the area to appreciate what they have and that they are able to help others who are in need.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s a very valuable and important lesson to teach to kids,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Freeman said he is most looking forward to raising funds for JTF. Likewise, Levit said he looks forward to raising money for those who need it most, but that he\u2019s also thrilled that this event was conceived and created by community members themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be in a position where people who are already doing a lot in the community recognize you as an organization and want to put their time effort and resources together to support your cause, that\u2019s a special and powerful thing,\u201d Levit said. \u201cAnd that should not be lost on anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
