What Is #GivingTuesday?
#Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that takes place each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Created in 2012, it began as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over time, it has grown into a worldwide movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate kindness. Unlike commercial days like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday shifts the focus from buying to giving back—whether through donations, volunteering, acts of service, or spreading awareness for a cause.
Organizations, communities, and individuals participate in Giving Tuesday in ways that are meaningful to them. Nonprofits often use the day to rally support for their missions, local businesses may match donations, and families or individuals might choose causes close to their hearts. At its core, Giving Tuesday is about the power of collective generosity. It reminds us that everyone has something to give and that small acts of kindness—when multiplied across the world—can create lasting impact.
The Big Ideas Behind #GivingTuesday . . .
#GivingTuesday leverages the influence of social media and the generosity of individuals worldwide to drive meaningful change within local communities. It creates a powerful platform that encourages people to contribute their time, resources, and talents to address pressing challenges. The movement brings together a diverse coalition of partners—including nonprofits, civic groups, businesses, corporations, families, and individuals—uniting them in a shared effort to inspire and amplify acts of kindness.
As a global initiative, #GivingTuesday connects countries across the world through a collective commitment to care for, support, and empower one another.

Why Give to the Jason Taylor Foundation?
Giving back is a simple concept, yet one too often overlooked. Few embody its true meaning more fully than Jason Taylor, legendary Miami Dolphins Defensive End, 2007 NFL Man of the Year, and 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee. From his early days as a Pittsburgh youth serving as a missionary to his extensive community involvement throughout his NFL career, Jason has consistently dedicated himself to uplifting those in need.
In July 2004, Jason’s commitment to service led to the creation of the Jason Taylor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting and developing programs that foster the personal growth and empowerment of South Florida’s children in need. By focusing on enhanced health care, improved educational opportunities, and a better quality of life, the Foundation has invested nearly $12,000,000 in innovative, impactful programs that directly benefit local youth.
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to Be The Spark that ignites lasting change. With Jason’s unwavering leadership and the continued generosity of supporters like you, the Jason Taylor Foundation will remain steadfast in its mission to build a brighter future for the children of South Florida. Your contribution – no matter the size – can spark transformation, inspire hope, and help light the path forward for the next generation.
