The Lab is a summer-only series of interactive workshops with instructions in written and spoken word poetry. It is designed to help the poets and support the teaching aims of the bluapple Poetry Network. Curated by bluapple Programs Coordinator, Shawntee` Herring, this weekly writing and performance workshop will feature specific sessions with guest facilitators and are designed to challenge poets to dig deeper into their craft. Workshops include instruction in:
Exploring the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of writing poetry
Creating and experimenting with different styles and forms of poetry
Finding and developing your ‘voice’
Analytical thinking exercises and creative brainstorming
Creating a portfolio of diverse works
