Indya Vassell is one of four children living in a single parent home and truly appreciates her opportunity to be sponsored by the Jason Taylor Foundation so that she can attend college. She graduated in 2015 from Miramar High School with a 4.5 GPA and made the top 15% of her graduation class. Indya is currently in her Freshman year of college at Florida International University. While attending FIU she is also working at the help desk of the public safety department at Miami-Dade College. She plans on majoring in Public Administration, and after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree she hopes to go into the Police Academy or Fire Academy. Indya is very athletic and while in high school was involved in a variety of sports. Indya’s other interests include fishing and riding motorcycles. Indya is a former student at the Jason Taylor Reading Room. She is extremely grateful for the Jason Taylor Program and states that it has “truly been a blessing in her life”.
