After celebrating the Tenth Anniversary of his signature fundraising effort last year, Miami Dolphins legendary defender, Jason Taylor, kicked off another decade of supporting South Florida’s children in need with the 11th Annual Jason Taylor Celebrity Golf Classic Presented by Community Capital Management and Invicta Watch Group on February 23-24, 2014.Proceeds from this year’s event benefitted the Jason Taylor Foundation, Holtz Children’s Hospital and Take Stock in Children.
The 2007 NFL Man of the Year began the celebration on Sunday evening, February 23, with a dinner and charity auction at Bongos Cuban Café located at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The star-studded affair featured celebrity guests from the worlds of sport and entertainment, including TV personalities, NFL Hall of Famers as well as current and former NFL & NBA stars. Emceed by Joy Taylor, younger sister of Jason Taylor and co-host of FM 104.3/790 AM The Ticket’s Morning Show, the event was highlighted by delicious Latin cuisine, a silent auction, musical stylings by Que Bolero and Power Parties DJ’s & Lighting. Guests also enjoyed the Bongos Sky Lounge for the latter part of the evening.
11th Annual Jason Taylor Celebrity Golf ClassicSeven high school seniors, representing the Jason Taylor Scholars Class of 2014, were honored for their achievements, as they embark on their college careers, with full scholarships from the Jason Taylor Foundation. The Jason Taylor Foundation also presented Take Stock In Children with a donation of $42,000, to welcome three new students into the program. In addition, on behalf of the Holtz Children’s Hospital, one young boy accepted a $50,000 donation towards continuing the advancement of the Jason Taylor Children’s Learning Center.
For the eleventh consecutive year, the following day’s golf tournament on Monday, February 24, took place at Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla. Celebrity guests and sponsors enjoyed a golf scramble on the historic, exclusive “CaddyShack” course. JuiceBlendz, Chick-Fil-A and VooDoo BBQ & Grill generously provided food and drinks to all guests throughout the round of golf. As all the scores were tallied, it was Leroy Hoard and the Seminole Tribe of Hollywood group who took home this year’s First Place Trophy as well as Samsung 46″ TVs, courtesy of Best Buy of Davie Town Center.
11th Annual Jason Taylor Celebrity Golf ClassicAs this year’s Classic came to a close, it was Jason Weiss from Coral Springs who was this year’s lucky winner of a 2014 Scion tC. For the ninth consecutive year, JM Family Enterprises, Inc. and Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC, generously donated a Scion tC for the raffle (www.Scion.com). All proceeds directly benefited the Jason Taylor Foundation.
